Wow, those waves are really crashing ashore!! This is a fantastic, dynamic composition in my opinion. The solitary figure standing there, the boat pointing in the direction of the figure and water, the splashing waves...all in uncomplicated black and white. I really like this!

This is a cracking shot in many respects, but for me what makes it is that little hint of horizon that adds an extra depth & makes the person the main subject, & I want to know just where is she gazing & what is she thinking? What is the story being told here? When an image starts to engage you in this way its a powerful thing. For me its a classic example of a B&W image helping to colour the imagination. Top shot
